Introduction

Annapurna base camp trek is a famous hiking journey in Nepal. Annapurna Base Camp is abbreviated as ABC. Hence, the trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is also known as the ABC trek. This trek leads one to reach a base camp of Mt Annapurna. This seems like a Sanctuary circled by snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Thus, this trek is also famous for the name Annapurna Sanctuary trek. The tallest peak one can view from the base camp is Mt Annapurna I. It is the 10th highest mountain in the world which is rising to an elevation of 8,091 meters/ 26545 feet.

 

The other striking peaks close to this camp are Mt Fishtail (Machapuchare), Mt Annapurna Fang, Mt Annapurna South, Mt Annapurna III, Mt Hiunchuli, Mt Gangapurna, Mt Khangsar Kang, and Tent Peak. Most of the mountains in this region are over 7000 meters. The only entrance of this Annapurna base camp is a narrow valley between Mt Hiunchuli and Mt Machapuchare, where run-off from glaciers drains into the Modi Khola River. How to reach 

There are a couple of places where one can start hiking to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. Every trekking trail of ABC passes through amazing mountain villages, lush forests of oak and bamboo trees, terraced farmlands, sparkling streams, and glacial moraines. Everybody becomes more excited in spring while trekking on this trail as it is the time of blossoming rhododendron flowers and it makes the hills look colorful.
